Fated Love (The Soul Sisters Series Book 3) Page 19

“What? You can’t seriously approve of the way I just spoke to your mom?”

“I don’t give one shit about that, she deserved it and she needed to hear it, I’m talking about all the other lovely stuff you said.”

Lottie is looking at me like I’m crazy, she still doesn’t get it, “I didn’t say anything else.”

“Love, you did,” and then I spot the flash of awareness that quickly flashes over her features. Here we go, the protective wall is going back up, “Don’t do that. Don’t make me force it out of you Lottie, You said it and I heard it.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“Really,” I whisper stalking towards her, “Let me see if I can refresh your memory.” She’s looking agitated and on the verge of panic. Perfect. I’m in control because she doesn’t know what to expect. Having her restless and on edge is a huge turn on and my cock is throbbing to get involved in the action. “Remember yet?”

  “Um…”

“Stand up,” I tell her and Lottie doesn’t hesitate, this is turning her on as much as it is me and she fucking loves it. I unzip her tight as fuck jeans and pull them down her body, revealing another delectable scrap of fabric, “Step out of them.” Lottie again grants my request and I run my hands from the back of her ankles, up her smooth skin towards her ass, cupping her ass cheeks on my way to the G string. When I finish mauling her ass, I finally rip the material that’s in my way, off her body.

Lottie’s breathing becomes heavy and she reaches out to steady herself, the taunting of my seduction is making her unbalanced, “How about now? Remember?”

“No,” she replies determined. The clever little minx knows what I want to hear and she’s going to make me work for it. Fortunately, I am more than man enough for that challenge.

“Turn around. Spread your legs wide and bend forward Lottie. I want that fucking ass up in the air.” She gasps in shock and complies, placing her hands on the floor to steady her body. “Give me your hands Lottie,” leaning up a little, she balances precariously and offers them to me so I can put them where I want them, on either side of her ass cheeks, pulling those beautiful globes apart. Her pussy and tiny puckered ass hole are teasing the fuck out of me in readiness.

“Magnificent. I’m wondering if I make good on my promise to tear your shit up whether that will jog your memory,” I whisper seductively as I start to undress the lower half of my body.

“Oh god,” she cries and starts to tip forward.

“I’ve got you. I won’t let you fall,” I reassure her because she’s trembling and if I didn’t know her so well, I’d think she was nervous and didn’t want this. But I do know her and the reality is she’s trembling from the thrill, the anticipation and the raw need to feel. “You were fucking made for me,” I tell her as I start to tease her pussy and rub so lightly that the softness of my touch starts to make her pant. “I know you meant what you said, this could all go much quicker, if you just admitted it.”

  “Please,” she begs me.

I begin to tease her by pushing the tips of my fingers inside her, she’s so wet and ready for me. The head of my cock is so swollen it’s nearly purple. I begin to cover her in her own juices because I want it all, I am desperate to fuck all of her, take what I know no one else has had and claim her fully as mine.

“Tell me you know you said it and I’ll give it you all Lottie, all you know you’ve ever wanted,” I make my intentions clear by probing her ass. “Say what I want to hear and you have can have it.”

She’s panting intensely now, so I turn the teasing up a level and get comfortable sliding my cock along her slick pussy and back down again, working her ass with each stroke.

“I… I remember, I know. I… said it, please Oli, please.”

“It seems we’re getting somewhere,” and to reward her admission and ease the ball busting pain I’m in, I slide my rock hard cock into her pussy just once to lubricate it and am rewarded with her internal muscles clenching me as I withdraw. I position the head of my cock at her ass and whisper, “Just relax, breathe with me, I’ll go slow baby.” Doing exactly as I promised, I’m rewarded with her trust and acceptance, “Oh God yes,” I hear her stutter as I gently push and retreat until I’m fully seated.

“Fuck Lottie. I won’t be able to last long. Amazing.” I begin to move and I’m mindful that this is new territory for her. My animal instinct is to pound into her until she’s falling apart, but I can’t do that because the gift she is giving me is too precious. I encourage her to let go of her ass cheeks and lace her fingers with mine at her waist.

Lottie stands up against me and the sensation and tightness changes. It feels unreal and leaning around to look at me she whispers, “Fuck me Oli, give me what I want,” and just as fluidly she bends over again. I don’t need asking twice and abandoning all gentleness I take what I need and give her what she desires. Lottie begins to scream and rear back into me.

For the first time in my life I cum before a girl and as I’m emptying all of my semen inside her, she starts to join me, falling towards the floor so I have to catch her to keep her steady. I slowly withdraw my cock from her body and scoop her up into my arms, Lottie nestles into my chest as I kick my pants off fully and head for the bedroom. I shuffle to get us under the bed covers and hold her close, feeling more fucking joy and contentment than I thought was possible. “I love you Lottie Groves. I never imagined finding anyone to say those words to. You’ve taken me by surprise and saying those words to you feels like the most natural fucking thing I’ve ever done.”

Lottie looks up at me with wide eyes and as she’s opening her mouth to return the words and finally admit what I already know, her house phone rings. The answer phone clicks in and all we hear is a shaky voice leaving a message. “Lottie, it’s Lacey. I need you to come here, Annie’s not well and I’m worried. I’m struggling a bit to keep things going. I’ll try your cell, but can you call me when you get this.”

  Bubble burst.

  Dream temporarily over.

Fucking real life pokes its ugly head into our world once again.

  Chapter Twenty Five

“Calm down, shit. Slow down,” he tells me.

“Slow down! Did you hear her? Something’s wrong.”

“I know and if you ring her like this, all fucking frantic, you’re going to scare her.” He’s right, my insides are all twisted up and I need to think rationally.

“You’re right, I could be stressing for nothing.” Grabbing my cell from the bedside charger lead, I dial Lacey’s number. “Hi, is everything OK?”

“I don’t know,” she replies whispering, “She’s not been herself and she looks pale and is tired all the time. For a couple of mornings now, I’ve had to go in and wake her up. I’m worried because the other kids are starting to notice and play up a bit.”

  “Why are you whispering?”

“I’ve stepped out of the kitchen because I don’t want her to hear me, she’ll already kill me when she finds out what I’ve done.”

“Sweetheart, you did the right thing, don’t worry. I’ll get on the road first thing.” I feel the need to give her reassurance that she’s absolutely done the right thing because I can tell she’s not sure about calling me.

“Great, thank you Lottie, I’m hoping you can help with whatever is going on?”

“How’s my little guy?” I ask because I want to steer the conversation to more normal territory and because I miss him like mad, Skype only goes so far to putting my mind at ease.

“Yeah, he’s OK, but he’s quiet and not himself. I’m having a hard time getting him to leave Annie’s side.” That doesn’t sound good and worries me more, he should be demanding Disney movies and causing chaos.

“Do me a favor? Put him in front of his laptop, I’m going to call him shortly.”

“Will do, see you in the morning Lottie.” After I’ve disconnected the call, I relay the information I’ve learned to Oli. He’s doing his best to keep
me calm, but if Carter looks even remotely unhappy, I’ll be breaking all land speed records to get down there immediately.

“Let me skype him,” Oli asks.

  “Why?”

“If he doesn’t want you to worry he’ll brave face it, sounds like he’s been doing that for the last few calls anyway.” I nod, conceding to his request and moving out of the way once I’ve set the laptop up. The digital ringing sound doesn’t last long, “Carter, my main guy, just checking in. I’m missing you,” Oli greets.

  “Yeah, me too. Where’s Lottie?”

“In the bathroom, I wanted a few minutes, man to man before she bores you with girlie stuff.”

“Yuk, girl stuff, no way,” I can imagine the face he’s pulling and from the side profile of Oli, it would be a funny one.

  “Are things OK there buddy?”

  “Um…”

“Remember rule one?” Oli promptly reminds him of the honesty clause in guy chat law.

“Yes, I remember,” Carter reluctantly agrees, “Granny’s tired a lot. She keeps sleeping and Lacey only just got the breakfast ready in time yesterday.”

  “Are you doing OK?”

“Not really. Joe and I think we should help but Annie won’t let us, she’s making me go to Kindergarten. I’m the man of the house and I’m supposed to be doing my job.”

  “Your job?” Oli questions.

“Keeping the women safe, like you told me to.”

“Dude it sounds like you are doing a fine job. There are some things that only girls can help each other with. I think Lottie is coming over to visit tomorrow but until then, can you help Lacey out if she asks?”

“Yeah. I keep trying to make Granny rest and watch films with me. Lacey keeps telling her to slow down but she won’t.”

“That’s a brilliant idea, you now have a mission buddy. Here’s Lottie, see you soon dude.”

Carter says bye and then plasters on a big smile in anticipation of my face appearing in the screen. It’s the same smile I’ve seen for a while now and I understand it’s not real. I know he’s covering up just how worried he is. Annie has been his rock, he will see any change in her or her routine more than the others. “Crazy Carter, what’s shaking?”

“Nothing, when you come tomorrow we’re gonna do a Cars movie day.”

“That sounds great, who’s in Cars?”

“Lightning McQueen, he’s fast, funny and handsome like me.”

I burst out laughing, “Exactly like you. Is Annie there? I haven’t seen her gorgeous granny grin for a few days.” I now understand this is by design. If Lacey’s right, she’s been avoiding me.

“No, she’s having a quick nap before dinner time.”

“OK, I’ll let her sleep, see you tomorrow. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.”

  “In a while, crocodile.”

“See you later, alligator,” I return, doing our thing, our goodbye game.

“Take care, polar bear,” he tells me smugly. This is new, he’s had help or he’s been researching because we don’t normally get this far.

  “In a hug, lady bug.”

“Gross! Hugging and lady bugs, they’re girlie,” he complains and I can’t contain my laughter.

“I win bubbalicious, good night,” I say and hang up. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough, this little boy and that dear old lady are so important to me, the thought that either one is suffering or unwell hurts somewhere deep inside of me. The emotion comes from a place that’s been closed off for so long, my heart and soul. Annie, Carter and Oli own a big chunk of my now beating heart, they’ve restarted it and my protective instinct is fighting the logic of waiting to get in my car and race up the interstate now.

I was on pins all throughout the journey, seriously pissed off because neither of our vehicles delivered me to Thornton Grove in a Nano-second. “Holy shit balls, what is happening here?” I ask Oli in complete shock after we’ve walked through the door, Sunnyside Buildings is like a tornado has passed through and destroyed it from the inside out. Toys are everywhere, kids are running riot and there is a distinct lack of adult supervision.

“Not sure,” he tells me, but it’s obvious he’s as concerned as I am. “I’ll round this lot up and you go hunt down Annie and Lacey.” I set off wondering how he’s going to pull that off without a lasso or riot water cannon.

My first stop, the kitchen doesn’t lead me to Lacey or Annie, it only serves to distress me more. The place is a real life health violation, food and rubbish bags are strewn about, dirty dishes overflow the sinks and the stove looks in need of an oil change at an auto body shop.

Annie’s little family room is empty, but I can tell she’s not been in there for a while. Post has been placed on the side unopened and it’s very dusty and in need of a vacuum.

Upstairs, I try Carter’s room, figuring if I find him first it will narrow down my search field. He’s not there but my attention is drawn to the bathroom where I can hear a child being sick. In the bathroom I finally find Lacey, she looks exhausted as she helps Dillon, one of the short term residents, recover from something unpleasant. She starts to tear up as soon as she spots me, the poor girl looks exhausted.

“Lacey, God, what’s going on? Where are Annie and Carter?”

“Carter is with her, in her room, she’s resting whilst he’s watching a movie. I haven’t had time to clean up yet and a couple of the young ones have been throwing up, sorry.” Lacey looks defeated, she didn’t want me to see this because she’s been holding things together as best she can, but clearly things are now on top of her. Sunnyside is at breaking point.

“Are the kids ill? Do we need a doctor?” I say proceeding with caution into the room, feeling Dillon’s forehead for a temperature.

“Um, no, I think it may have been something they ate. I’m not a very good cook,” and finally her tears fall.

“Hey, it’s OK, we’ll fix this. You’ll see, are you OK here whilst I go check on Annie?”

Wiping furiously at her cheeks, whilst I pull her in for a hug, she squares her shoulders and takes a deep breath before replying, “Of course.”

I’m quaking inside, this place is Annie’s pride and joy and now I’m really worried about her because she wouldn’t willingly let this happen. Knocking on the door lightly, it falls open. Carter is on top of the covers using the laptop with his headphones on, he hasn’t noticed me yet and it’s giving me a quick few minutes to assess Annie. She looks pale, grey and her breathing is labored. The sandwich on her nightstand is untouched as are the three cups of tea beside it. Even from this distance I can tell she’s dehydrated.

When Carter spots me, he slowly shuts the lid on the laptop, removes the headphones and whispers, “Ssh, she’s resting.”

“I can see that, is she OK?”

“She sounds like Wheezy from Toy Story,” I smile at him, this boy is cute beyond belief but unfortunately, he’s also right. His assessment is spot on and something is very wrong.

“You stay here with Granny Annie and I’ll go and find Oli, see if he’s got lost.” Clearly the act I’m putting on is good enough for Carter and he reopens his laptop, Annie hasn’t even stirred at my arrival. Outside the bedroom door I pull out my mobile and dial for an ambulance. I’m too afraid to call for a local doctor, I don’t want anyone to move her unless it’s necessary.

Oli comes round the corner of the hallway as I finish talking to the dispatcher, “Shit, is she that bad?”

“Something’s wrong. Can you get all the kids into the family room and stay with them. I don’t want Carter or Lacey to see them enter the house.”

“Yeah, of course, I’ll get Lacey to help me keep control.” I look up to my guy with a weary smile and he pulls me in for a hug. “We’ve got this baby, you go with Annie and I’ll hold the fort.”

Hugging him never felt so good, “Thanks, I… I love you,” I whisper, finally saying the words I didn’t get chance to finish yesterday.

  I don’t know how he did i
t, but my guy managed it. All kids were corralled for movie time before the paramedics arrived, giving me time to sneak them upstairs, explain her condition and the situation on route to her room. I gave as many details as I could, which really didn’t feel like that many or of any use and within ten minutes Annie was hooked to an I.V., a portable ECG machine and being transferred to a trolley.

I went with her to the nearest hospital and felt utterly useless when the few details I did have, just weren’t good enough. I sent a text message to Oli and asked him to hunt down any personal papers or medical stuff that may help so I could check her in and get her insurance stuff registered.

After that, I spent an eternity in a family room, desperately waiting for information, when a doctor appeared. “I’m afraid we’re going to need to perform a small operation. Her heart rate is irregular and her blood pressure is low. Initial scans indicate she has a blockage in one of the main arteries of her heart.”

“Oh god,” I cried, “How did this happen?” Panic was washing over me, I was hoping that an ambulance was overkill, but this shit was serious.

“My guess is, it’s something that has gradually worsened over a period of time. Her best chance of survival would be to try and remove the blockage. She’s lucky though, her heart has been working hard at an irregular rhythm for some time we think. Calling an ambulance was the best thing. Is there any other family you’d like to call?”

My tears finally fall at the seriousness of the situation. She doesn’t have anyone apart from a little grandson, me and a house full of kids who depend on her, “No, there’s no one else.”

“OK, I’m going to get ready for the surgery. I’m not sure how long it will take. You’re welcome to wait in here and I’ll ask them to set you a cot up, so you can stay if you want. I can’t offer you anything apart from my promise to do all within my powers to help make her better.”

“Thank you,” I say gulping and crying, “She’s so important to us, I can’t think about what will happen to the children who need her if…” The doctor nods in understanding and then leaves. Before I fall apart completely, I send an update text to Oli. He needs to know I’m not leaving here until she’s awake and I can see her warm smile with my own eyes. I have this burning desire to tell him everything, I love him, I’m terrified right now and anything else that keeps me grounded with someone who can ease my suffering. With nothing left to do but stare at asinine wall art and flip through old, tatty magazines, I do something I’ve never done before.
